Welcome to the world of one of Tochigi's top jizake brewers, Hokkan Sake!
In 1973, we founded the Hokkan Sake Brewing Co., Ltd. in Tochigi City, Tochigi Prefecture through a joint collaboration of three traditional local sake (jizake) houses founded in the Edo Era (17th century). Utilizing sake brewing knowledge and business knowhow gained over 300 years, we created the "Hokkan" brand to communicate quality and good taste to the consumer.
Our aim is to create and promote new varieties of sake to better meet the consumer's ever developing interest and needs. We believe that our sincere and dedicated interest in the consumer's taste has been the key to create our steadily increasing customer base.
We are very pleased for the increase of interest in both authentic Japanese cuisine as well as modernized fusion Japanese cuisine created with local ingredients in many foreign counties. Because of this trend, we recognize that the interest in sake has also grown and are particularly happy for the opportunity to communicate the tradition and innovation of Hokkan Sake to more and more consumers.
We take pride in the natural beauty of the mountainous country of Tochigi as well as the high quality of Japanese produced rice and local water that goes into every brew. We rely upon the experience and judgment of our Toji (professional sake brew masters) to match the taste of the consumer. Although we place great emphasis on tradition, we also realize that creativity and innovation are essential to meet and exceed the expectations of our customers.
